We offer preventative medicine & vaccinations for your family’s year-round health and well being. Ormond Medical Centre is a family orientated General Practice dedicated to high quality medical care and preventative medicine for all patients.
All practitioners in this clinic continually undergo extra training and professional development to maintain current medical knowledge and learn new treatment techniques.
All consultations and records are strictly confidential. This clinic has been re-accredited in August 2018 by GPA Accreditation Plus, which is an official recognition of the high standards of healthcare, customer service and privacy provided by this clinic. GPA Accreditation Plus are an independent agency employed to ensure quality of care in Australian General Practice.
OUR DOCTORS
Dr. B James Lichtblau
(MBBS FRACGP)
Dr Lichtblau is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners – he is also a family physician with admitting rights at Cabrini Hospital. He is a founding member of this practice and is particularly interested in the care of elderly patients and family medicine. Dr. Lichtblau performs specific surgeries in the clinic and has an special expertise in the removal of small lesions and spots.
He is available for consultations at the surgery everyday except Wednesday.
In late 2011, Dr. Lichtblau won an Award for Teaching Excellence from Monash University. This award demonstrates his commitment to high teaching standards of medical students and future doctors. Dr. Lichtblau is heavily involved in teaching medical students on their General Practice rotations, both from Monash University and the University of Melbourne.
Dr. Fiona Waters
(MBBS FRACGP)
Please note Dr Waters is currently not taking on any new patients.
Fiona Waters was born in UK and studied Medicine at Barts and The London Medical College. She graduated in 1997 having completed a Batchelors degree in Sociology as applied to Medicine in addition to her Medical degree. She then completed her General Practice training in London and gained Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners. She moved to Brisbane in 2004 and worked part time as a GP before moving to Melbourne.
Fiona has been working at Ormond Medical Centre since 2006. She has a special interests in Women’s Health, Mental Health and Preventative Medicine but enjoys all aspects of General Practice including being a visiting Doctor to a number of Aged Care Facilities. Fiona has two teenage children and in her spare time enjoys being out in nature, running, walking and gardening.
Dr Ahdy Gerges
(M.B.Ch.B, FRACGP)
Dr Ahdy is a specialist General practitioner and is a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners with almost more than 20 years of experience. He had spent more than eight years working in Tasmania including working in Launceston General Hospital as a general medicine registrar and also worked in different General practices and in Urgent care clinics across north Tasmania as a General practitioner doctor.
Dr Gerges enjoys all areas of General Practice & appreciates building long term patient-doctor relationships serving the community.
